How to play Memory Pairs

Take a moment with Memory Pairs before moving to another game. Match all eight pairs. Your result is the number of two-card turns used. Look at what changes after your first action. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Look at what changes after your first action.

Practice beyond the first move

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Make the next step deliberately.

Aim for this result

Match all eight pairs. Your result is the number of two-card turns used. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

From the start of a round

  1. Turn over any face-down card.
  2. Choose a second card. Equal symbols stay visible.
  3. Unequal cards turn back after a short pause.
  4. Continue until every pair is visible.

Using the playing area

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

See the idea in action

Turn over one card, remember its position, then choose a second. A matching pair stays found; a mismatch is hidden again. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Verify the rule before continuing.

One detail worth checking

You cannot turn a third card while a mismatched pair is still being shown. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
