The Word Recall playbook

Try Word Recall at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Included vocabulary and random repeats; a game, not a medical memory assessment.

One thing to notice as you play

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

The playing sequence

  1. Read each displayed word.
  2. Choose New word or Seen before.
  3. Remember words from this round only.
  4. Three mistakes end the round.

Your inputs

Click or tap one of the two answer buttons. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Use one clear input at a time.

Work through an example

PLANT seen earlier in the same round requires Seen before. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Check the stated objective.

Where a round can go wrong

A word from an earlier round does not count as seen now. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
